Eflornithine

二氟甲基鳥氨酸
Mechanism of action:
Eflornithine 是一種鳥胺酸(ornithine)衍生物。Eflornithine 能不可逆抑制鳥胺酸脫羧酶(ornithine decarboxylase),該酵素能將鳥胺酸轉化成腐胺(putrescine),可用於生成精胺(spermine)、亞精胺(spermidine)等。由於布氏錐蟲(Trypanosoma brucei)對這類分子高度依賴,因此當 eflornithine 抑制布氏錐蟲的鳥胺酸脫羧酶後,錐蟲會停止生長並逐漸死亡。
