Morphological description
Emuella dalgarnoi has a cephalon that is roughly pentagonal in outline, with a semicircular cranidium and well-developed genal spines. The prothorax consists of six segments, with the sixth segment bearing a distinct pleural spine. The opisthothorax is composed of a very large number of segments; the highest known individuals possess up to 52 segments in the posterior thorax.

Emu Bay: refers to the locality where the fossils were discovered
Dalgarno: a surname
Biological description
This species represents the second known species within the genus Emuella. It differs from the type species primarily in subtle variations in cephalic morphology.
