Species: Peachella iddingsi
Morphological description
Peachella iddingsi is a medium-sized trilobite, reaching approximately 3.5 cm in length. The cephalon is semicircular in shape, and the glabella is columnar. The genal spines are broad and inflated, giving them a balloon-like appearance. The third thoracic segment bears a remarkably robust pleural spine, while the pygidium is extremely reduced.

Etymology
Peach: in honor of the British geologist B. N. Peach
iddingsi: in honor of the American geologist J. P. Iddings
Biological description
Fossils of Peachella iddingsi have been collected from regions of California, USA. This species is the type species of the genus. Like many early trilobites, it possessed a thin and flattened exoskeleton. Its most distinctive feature is the exceptionally thick pleural spine on the third thoracic segment.
Similar to most members of the Olenellina, it was likely a benthic organism inhabiting marine environments.
